Membership & Chapters Committee Chair, Dr. Timothy McClintock presented 2007 Next Generation Award winners Hirofumi Watari, Jonathan Ting, Bryan White, and Kyle Frantz with their honorary plaques during the 2007 Annual Meeting in San Diego, CA. Dr. Ting, Mr. Watari, and Mr. White of the Pacific Cascade Chapter were the Predoctural/Postdoctoral Team winners. Dr. Frantz of the Atlanta Area Neuroscience Chapter was the Junior Faculty recipient.

Pacific Cascade
Neuroscience Education Award for Travel (NEAT)
Next Generation Award winner, Bryan White, and Chapter Representative, Dr. Eric Chudler, have spearheaded the development of a travel award to promote engagement among young neuroscientists in educational outreach. The $1000 travel award for the 2008 Annual Meeting in Washington DC will be awarded this summer to a University of Washington (UW) graduate student interested in neuroscience education.
Middle Tennessee
Neuroscience Retreat and Workshop in Zambia
The Chapter organized a neuroscience retreat and workshop attended by 71 participants in Lusaka, Zambia from June 13-15 2007. The meeting hosted 23 scientific presentations on HIV/AIDS dementia, cerebral malaria, epilepsy and chronic depressive disorders. The chapter also sponsored an intensive neuroscience course to 69 fourth year University of Zambia medical students from June 19-28.
